The design team drew inspiration from the city's impression and regional culture, incorporating the landscape into the sales center. The result is a space that guides urban life back to its original ideal form, expressing the freedom of life. The design's unique properties lie in its bilateral symmetry and dignified atmosphere, reflecting a noble and elegant lifestyle.
The realization of this design was achieved through careful selection of materials that align with the theme and budget constraints. Key materials include stone, hand-painted wallpaper, and metal printed panels. The design team's chief designer, Tao Lin, played a significant role in bringing this vision to life.
The sales center spans a total area of 1500 square meters, with a public negotiation area divided into functional areas by a grid. This design strategy skillfully reduces the sense of thickness due to the symmetric layout. The negotiation area is traditional yet interesting, with a grand structure. The golden grille screen provides a perspective effect, while the white soft-covered seats offer elegant comfort.
Upon entering the front hall, guests are greeted by a landscape picture and a metal grille forming a "half-covered pipa" scene, creating a clear and penetrating image. The reception desk exudes tranquility, and the bonsai radiates a welcoming aura, inviting guests into the next space.
The project, which took place from January to October 2019, posed challenges due to its location outside Shanghai. However, through active communication with the project supervisor, construction team, and owner, and regular visits to Yichang for project inspection, the design team successfully overcame these obstacles.
The design team's underlying research focused on the integration of lines and blocks, unified in the overall spatial structure and temperament. This approach added a sense of harmony and rhythm to the overall environment, taking the simplicity of modern design to a deeper level. The Changjiang Plaza is a shining example of how design can guide urban life back to its original ideal form, embodying a blend of modern simplicity and traditional elegance.
